Tables for C-Arms
Medical multifunctional operating tables for X-ray machines are used to "scan" specific areas of the body during or before surgical procedures.
Main characteristics of the C-arm operating table
Radiolucent operating tables are specially designed to meet stringent quality and durability standards. They must have:
-
Wide range of motion and large surface area suitable for imaging
-
Up and down adjustment for patient and staff comfort
-
Lateral tilt
-
Trendelenburg / Reverse position
-
Longitudinal movement
-
Modular design
-
X-ray penetrating tabletop with slow attenuation
-
Hydraulic or electric drive
The surgical tables are usually equipped with foot and manual control options, thereby providing maximum flexibility and safety during treatment procedure.
Choosing the right radiosurgery table simply requires a little research and a good understanding of what your specific needs will be. For some, universal operating tables will be cost-effective and very practical, while for larger facilities, highly specialised ones may be suitable.
Design features
The C-arm tables are made of radiolucent material and are equipped with wheels for moving the unit quickly between patient rooms. These gurneys are suitable for X-ray examinations as well as for endoscopic and cardiovascular surgeries.
The C-arm operating table is adjustable in the diagonal, longitudinal and transverse axes, which allows you to fix the patient's body in an optimal and comfortable position for the doctor. The surface is transparent to X-rays and does not interfere with the scanning process or with the images. Special attention should be paid to the requirements for the coating: the gurney must be resistant to acids and moisture. Contemporary models are made of a carbon fibre bed with a stainless steel base. To ensure comfortable conditions, the tabletop is covered with a layer of polyurethane foam in the form of a removable mattress.
Radiolucent tabletop
Radiolucency is a special feature that is specific to the material. It is the one that facilitates the penetration of X-rays. This unique ability is essential in the treatment process and assists in diagnostics to determine the correct diagnosis.
Some of the first surgical tables were not radiopaque, which made the work of specialists very difficult. Initially, the patient was sent to an X-ray room to have an X-ray taken to analyse the condition of the internal organs and to determine the presence of injuries, bruises and fractures.
Thanks to modern technology and progress in the field of medicine, this problem has been eliminated. This unique feature simplifies the work of surgeons. Most modern operating tables are equipped with X-ray transmitting material. This enables additional X-ray examinations to be performed in addition to standard examinations: gastrointestinal tract, skull, upper and lower limbs, thoracic organs, genitals and urinary tract, musculoskeletal system, blood vessels. Medical C-arm tables are designed according to all requirements of modern medicine, based on the methods of leading European professionals, as well as opinions of experts and radiologists.
What to look for when buying
The therapy bed is fixed in the C-arm in such a way as to allow rotation around its axis. When choosing a product, pay attention to the availability of additional functions. Preference should be given to models that support:
-
height adjustment;
-
stabilization along three axes;
-
Trendelenburg position;
-
Anti-Trendelenburg position;
-
lateral tilts;
-
control by means of a wireless remote control.
